What is HeavyMuscle?
HeavyMuscle is a workout tracker for gym strength training, available for Android, iPhone and Wear OS watches. It combines live set-by-set logging with an automatic rest timer, an AI coach that knows your full training history, a muscle recovery body map that updates after every session, and a catalog of 873 exercises that adapts to your injuries. The core app is free, works fully offline and never requires an account.
Is HeavyMuscle free?
Yes. Workout tracking, the 873-exercise library, strength progress charts, body measurements, the recovery map and the AI coach (with a weekly quota) are all free, supported by occasional ads on browsing screens — never during an active workout. HeavyMuscle Pro is an optional subscription (monthly, annual or a one-time lifetime purchase) that removes ads and greatly raises the AI coach quota.
Does HeavyMuscle work offline and without an account?
Yes. Your profile, workout templates, training sessions and body measurements are stored locally on your device, and everything except cloud sync works with no internet connection and no account. If you later sign in with Google or Apple, your data is backed up to your private account and synced across devices.
Which platforms is HeavyMuscle available on?
HeavyMuscle is available for Android on Google Play and for iPhone on the App Store, in six languages. Android users can also install the companion app for Wear OS smartwatches to run workouts from the wrist.
How does the AI coach work?
You describe the workout you want in plain language and the coach builds a structured, ready-to-use template around your flagged injuries, available equipment, experience level and time. Because it sees your recent sessions and weekly volume, it can also review your week, spot plateaus and tell you exactly when to add weight.
What is the muscle recovery map?
After every session HeavyMuscle estimates how recovered each muscle group is and paints it on a front/back body map — fatigued, recovering or fresh. One glance tells you whether today should be a push day, a leg day or a rest day.
Can I train around an injury?
Yes. You can flag up to nine body zones — knee, shoulder, lower back, neck, elbow, wrist, hip, ankle and upper back — and HeavyMuscle silently removes any exercise that would aggravate them from the catalog and from everything the AI coach or smart builder generates.
How big is the exercise library?
873 exercises, each with target and secondary muscles, required equipment, difficulty, step-by-step photo guides and a YouTube link for form. The entire library is translated into the app's six languages.
What can I track during a workout?
You log sets, reps and weight in real time with an automatic rest timer that gives sound and vibration cues. You can swap exercises mid-session and adjust sets on the fly, then finish with a summary of total volume, estimated calories, duration and personal records. Every lift gets all-time bests and estimated-1RM progress charts.
Does HeavyMuscle support RPE and RIR logging?
Yes — turn on autoregulation in Profile → Training and a one-tap chip row appears after every completed working set, in RPE (7–10) or RIR. Next time you do that exercise, HeavyMuscle reads your best set's effort and suggests the weight: roughly +5% when it felt easy, about −2.5% when it was at your limit — always rounded to a weight you can load with your registered plates. If you skip logging effort, the classic plateau detection still suggests progression.
Can I import an existing workout plan?
Yes. The AI coach can convert a workout plan from a PDF or spreadsheet into a ready-to-use template. You can also build templates manually from scratch, or let the smart builder generate a personalized plan from your equipment, level and goals.
Does HeavyMuscle track body measurements and progress photos?
Yes. You can log weight, body fat percentage, muscle mass, body water, waist, chest and more, with progress charts over time. Progress photos stay on your device (and sync privately to your account if you sign in), and you can export before/after comparisons to share.
Does HeavyMuscle work on smartwatches?
Yes — HeavyMuscle has a dedicated Wear OS app. Start a session, log every set, swap exercises and watch the rest timer straight from the watch while the phone stays in your bag; everything syncs back the moment you pick it up. Apple Watch support is not available yet.
Does HeavyMuscle integrate with Health Connect or Apple Health?
On Android, HeavyMuscle can write your finished workouts — exercise type, duration and estimated calories — to Health Connect, so they count toward your daily activity. It never reads your health data. Apple HealthKit support is planned.
What languages does HeavyMuscle support?
HeavyMuscle is fully translated into English, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, German, French and Italian — including the entire 873-exercise library and this website.
How does HeavyMuscle handle my data?
By default, everything stays on your device — you can use the app forever without an account. If you sign in, your data syncs to a private account that only you can access, and you can delete it (and the account) from inside the app at any time. The AI coach receives only an anonymous training summary, never your name or email, and analytics are anonymous. The full details are in the privacy policy on this site.
How does HeavyMuscle compare to Hevy, Strong or Jefit?
Like Hevy, Strong and Jefit, HeavyMuscle covers the essentials: fast set logging, a rest timer, progress charts and a large exercise library. What sets it apart is what happens around the logging — a built-in AI coach that reads your actual history, per-set RPE/RIR logging with next-session weight suggestions, a visual muscle-recovery map that tells you what to train today, injury-aware exercise filtering, and a fully offline, no-account experience with the core features free.
