HeavyMuscle

Bring your history to HeavyMuscle

HeavyMuscle imports past workouts from almost anything: CSV/spreadsheet exports, text files, PDFs and even screenshots. Here is exactly how to get your data out of the most popular trackers — and what to do when an app won't let you export at all.

Where the import lives in HeavyMuscle

Open History and tap the import icon in the header — the same flow is available in Profile → Account and on the empty Home screen. On the import screen, the ⓘ button shows what an ideal file looks like. Files up to 2 MB: CSV, TXT, PDF or an image.

Export from Hevy

  1. 01Open Hevy and go to the Profile tab.
  2. 02Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner to open the settings.
  3. 03Under Preferences, tap 'Export & Import Data', then 'Export'.
  4. 04Tap 'Export Workouts' and save the CSV file to your device.

Available on the free Hevy plan.

Export from Strong

  1. 01Open Strong and go to Settings.
  2. 02On iPhone tap 'Export Strong Data'; on Android tap 'Export Data'.
  3. 03Save the CSV file to Files, iCloud Drive or Google Drive.

Strong's own help notes the file can't be re-imported into Strong — HeavyMuscle reads it just fine.

Export from Jefit

  1. 01Sign in at jefit.com in a browser — the export lives on the website, not in the app.
  2. 02Open My Jefit → Settings and click 'Data Controls'.
  3. 03Click 'Export Data' and download the CSV file.

Send the file to your phone (e-mail or Drive) before importing.

Export from Fitbod

  1. 01Open Fitbod and go to the Log tab.
  2. 02Tap the gear icon to open the settings.
  3. 03Tap 'Export Workout Data' and save the CSV to Files.

The export contains every logged workout with dates, sets and weights.

Export from HeavySet

  1. 01Open HeavySet and go to Settings.
  2. 02Open 'Import, Export & Manage Data'.
  3. 03Export your workouts as CSV and share the file via Mail or save it.

Export is available without the paid upgrade.

Export from Alpha Progression

  1. 01Open Alpha Progression and go to your profile settings.
  2. 02Look for the data-export option and export your log as .csv.
  3. 03Save the file to your device.

Exact menu names vary by app version.

Then, back in HeavyMuscle

Get the file onto your phone (Files, Drive or e-mailing it to yourself all work). Open History, tap the import icon and choose the file. Review the preview — every workout with its date, sets and weights — and add it to your history. Unrecognized exercise names are kept exactly as written, in italics; re-mapping them later is your call. Importing the same file twice never duplicates anything.

Your app has no export? Use screenshots

Some trackers don't offer an export at all, or lock it behind a subscription. No problem: take clear screenshots of the history screens — date, exercise names and sets visible — and import them one at a time. HeavyMuscle reads the image and rebuilds those workouts.

From your own spreadsheet or notes

Training log in Google Sheets or Excel? Use File → Download → CSV — .xls/.xlsx isn't supported, so export as CSV first. Keeping notes on your phone? Share them as a text file: quick lines like 'Bench press 3×10 @ 60 kg' under a date are all the importer needs.
